Environmental design
I have been doing extensive research into geothermal energy. I have decided to break this information up into 3 parts. Please check back for part 2 and 3
Introduction
Geothermal energy is a very earth friendly form of energy that can help the environment and save you money. Geothermal energy can be used for heating and electricity and hot water if installed correctly and for that purpose. Most people use Geothermal for heating and cooling more than for electricity use. The system is a simple system of pipes that lay underground and use the heat of the earth to provide warmth to the water contained in them. The water then goes though pipes that are in your home and heat the home. Using hydraulic or water system in your home instead of a forced air system that relies on warm air to heat your home can make a better indoor environment as the air does not dry out, though you can set up the geothermal to work with an existing forced air system.
Installing a geothermal loop is but can take some time and will destroy your yard. If you’re building your home and adding this in it is much easier then adding it to an existing home. The first step in installing a geothermal system is to find out how deep your frost level is as the piping needs to go into the ground where the earth will be warm. This is also important because the depth will affect the cost of the project.
The second step is deciding what type of system you would like to use, that I will cover in my next post.

Design News,
lighting
Reading the news today I saw I very interesting article on yahoo about Wireless Electricity and thought this could be amazing. Not only would it work will with laptops and other now battery powered devices, but think of the interior design possibilities! You could put a lamp wherever you wanted to. No more cords to trip over or big holes in the walls. You could just stick up a light and call it good.

Not only will Wireless Electricity help with lighting but, your kitchen layout would no longer be limited to where the closest plug is. You could actually move your appliances to where they work well for you. You also wouldn’t have to worry about cords there either. Offices will change a ton as nothing will have to have cords and you can also put equipment where you need it, making it more accessible to the worker. This is great for the home office as you can have all of your Printers and so on in one are without worrying about overloading a circuit.
Personally I love the idea of getting rid of batteries and that my laptop will never die because the battery is too low. Of course this is way in the future, they are saying around 2050, but who knows we may get lucky and it will be sooner and able to go into homes, right now they are mostly looking at commercial use. I am very excited about this idea, Wireless Electricity really could change the world.

Yesterday I talked about cheep electricity and making money from this cheep energy on one of my other blogs. I wanted to share with you how you can benefit as a homeowner from this type of program. The program is run by stream energy they work with different energy companies to get you the best rate possible. They are regulated by the department of energy and they offer a month by month program where you can leave at anytime. I like this part of the deal as you know there is nothing to lose and you can try it out without the worry of a contract.
Another program they offer that works with the cheep energy program is a green and clean plan that will give you energy from renewable sources. In this way you can help keep the environment clean and have energy for your home. I hope to see more programs like this from other companies soon.
I believe this is a great way to get cheap electricity and to help you save money that can be used for other things, like bills, additions and new furniture or energy saving appliances. If you can get these appliances and use the renewable energy that stream energy provides just think of how much you are doing to help save our earth and save yourself some money.

Website Review
While checking out the shopping section of my Get paid to sites I found an interesting company that sells some great gadgets for your home. The company is called Smart Home and they have everything you could ever need to make your home secure, green and fun to be in.
I really like their energy saving section they have solar lights and remote control window coverings. I think though what I like the most is the power monitoring products. You can use these products to find out how much electricity you are using in areas of your home and cut back in those areas. I know my computer probably uses the most in my home as it’s on all day and a good amount of the night too. but I do work and homework so I really can’t cut back on that. But even right now as I’m typing this I have all of the lights in my room on. I think I need to turn those off!
If your looking to save money on more decorative items Smart Home has those too! I love the real wax candles that are actually lights inside of real wax. These are great for dorms or apartments where you really worry about setting something on fire. A more useful form of lighting would be there power out night light, it has rechargeable batteries that will power the night light if the electricity fails. Very helpful when you can’t find that flashlight.
I’m sure you will find something you like here. I’m still looking through the LED lights to find one for some lamps and ceiling fixtures I have. They just don’t sell these things near me so now that I have found a place to buy them I’m going to look into it.
