Something that has always stuck out at me is the amount of concrete located in a cemetery, if you think about it usually cheaper headstones are made of concrete, there are benches and memorial plaques. Even the flower planters are made of concrete. Why? Well concrete is not that expensive, it’s strong and it hold up to weather. It is also cheep to ship. Not only can you find a plaque for your loved one, but you can get things for a local park you may be helping with, or a school.

Concrete items are a big thing in design because of there strength and versatility. You see concrete tables at restaurants and in parks. Most of the trash receptacles are concrete. There is a reason that cities are called concrete jungles, concrete is used everywhere. It’s the foundation for your home. It’s fire proof and it’s cheep. So next time your thinking of doing a design project for your home or business take a look at concrete and check out that website, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Have you ever wanted to sleep on your own face? Well now you can, or you can sleep on any other face you would want to.  There is a new service that will print your photos onto almost anything, you can get a photo pillowcase with your dog or cat on it. Of course you could always put a picture of that hot celebrity or the guy from the gym you have a crush on, but I would recommend hiding it from company if you do that.

You can also get a Photo Shower Curtain and make your bathroom unique. I love this idea as most of the time I hate the shower curtains that are in the stores. They just don’t ever seem to work with that picture I have in my head. I can usually get everything else to work but not the shower curtain. This is the only site that has custom shower curtains!

I think using customizable things like this really helps you put a stamp on your own home since you can personalize it to your likes and dislikes. Just think you could great your guest with a nice pillow with there face on it. Okay that might be kind of scary, but you get the point.

I know many of you have heard about faucets that change the color of your water based on the heat or coolness of the water. Now there is a shower that does the same thing. Personally I think it’s looks amazing. The benefits are wonderful as they will keep your children or even yourself from getting burned or jumping into a too cold or hot shower.

 The maker of this shower is HANSA and they have designed many great products for your kitchen and bath. This is a great trend that I think will last for a very long time. It’s a useful trend and it could really help people be safe. So when you do your next remodel think about using these color changing fixtures and bring some fun color to your space.

One thing that I have recently noticed is an increase in clocks in my friends homes. For some reason time is being watched more and more as we get older and as the world gets smaller and in more of a hurry.

Recently one of my friends asked me her opinion on a clock she bought. I thought is was wonderful. She was happy as most of the time she has no style. So I asked where she got it and she gave me a website to check out. The site is called online clock store and I was very impressed by there selection. The clock to the right is the one my friend bought.

I decided to search for one I liked and since my mother is a clock fan, one for her also. I found this one that I loved the style of, but would never buy for myself. I just thought this was unique and had to share it with you.

One thing I hope you remember is that clocks are an accessory to your home not just a thing used to tell time. It can add style and complete a look. It can also be a focal point of a room, wouldn’t you notice the table clock below?

Until you put something on it. Designing the perfect window treatment is hard, you have so many different things to choose from, curtains, blinds, shades or even nothing, if your brave.

Recently I took my search for window treatments on line and I found a great site called Gauranteedblinds.com they have a great selection of blinds and shades. I love it because I found the perfect shade for my window, a must for any room that you have carefully designed or paid someone to. In my case I carefully designed it!

They don’t sell discount off brand blinds, they have Bella, Riviera and Santorini. They also have a great selection of bamboo shades, I love bamboo it’s great for the environment because it grows quickly and looks wonderful in a home.

Have you ever thought about how your newly designed bedroom would look when you turn the lights out? I know your thinking black, dark, duh! Well guess what it doesn’t have to be anymore. I recently stumbled across a man who does Night Sky Murals for homes.

Now your thinking right? Well not only can these be put in your bedroom so you can sleep under the stars, but there also great for home theaters and entry ways. Think about it, it’s nighttime and your guest walk into your home, only to look up and see the stars! Nice idea right?

Another great thing about this is that they can paint the constellations on your ceiling, perfect for children who need to learn them right? Plus most kids just like the idea of sleeping under the stars, and these murals actually look real not like those plastic glow in the dark stars you buy at the store.
