Moving and Design

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: buying a home

These are two very strange words to put together, but they can go together pretty well. Here is the thing, many people when moving don’t think about a lot of things. They don’t think about changing locks, if they rent, repainting the walls or even painting the walls in their new home before they move in. They are more worried about packing the cardboard boxes they have gathered and getting everything out quickly.

Let me tell you though if you plan out where you are putting what, what colors you are going to use in what room and have the painting all done before you move in, life will be much easier for you. Design takes time and yes when moving I know you don’t have much time, but if you do you need to plan before hand.

Find your dream real estate

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: Real Estate, buying a home

If your looking for homes for sale, one place you should check out is realestatebook.com. They have real estate in may different areas including Detroit Michigan and Houston Real Estate. I like using them because I can compare home prices in different areas and it makes me get an idea of where I would like to move to eventually.

Finding your home is the first step in finding yourself and starting a new or continuing a good life. Once you move in you customize your home with flooring, paint and furniture. You make memories in that home that your children or grandchildren will remember. Make sure when you are looking for that first home that you don’t just settle for anything. In this market you can get what you want at a good price. Right now there are so many homes for sale that you can be picky. Remember when you buy a home from someone you are helping them right now no matter what you buy it for, so if you have been thinking about it and have the credit to do it, try to find that perfect home. Just please make sure you can really afford it.

Room by Room Design

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: Accessories, Bathroom Design, Bedroom design, Interior Design, buying a home

Many people when designing their home or even just redecorating their home seem to concentrate mostly on the living and dinning area. These areas are the kitchen, the dinning room and the living or family room. What many forget about is the bathroom, bedroom and other areas of the home. The reason is simple, most people don’t see those areas of your home or at least they don’t spend much time in there.

If your looking to make a good first impression on new neighbors or are trying to sell you home, you really do want to take a second look at these areas. You want to get some nice bedroom accessories including stylish bed linen. You want the bedrooms to feel relaxing and inviting this shows that you are a person that is more go with the flow then everything has to be perfect. Yes you would think having a good looking bedroom would do the opposite, but it doesn’t.

Bathroom accessories are also a must when selling or showing off your home. You want a wow factor when someone walks into your bathroom. Nice well designed and decorated bathrooms show class and wealth. This is just the way some people think, if you have the money to spend to make your bath look good then you are pretty well off. Yes the same goes for a kitchen too.

Keeping your cool

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: buying a home

Right now everyone is still going crazy over the whole mortgage mess. There are people who can not afford to keep their homes, they can’t pay any of their bills and many are facing losing the home they worked hard to buy.

While now would seem the time to buy a home, you need to remember if you are in a home search keep your cool when it comes to putting in an offer. It’s no longer a buyers market so you will get a good home at a good price, but that doesn’t mean to make an offer that is way under a good price either.

Think of it this way, when you buy a home, you want that home to be worth something. If you buy a home dirt cheep then the one for sale down the block will also go for dirt cheep lowering the value of your home. So what price do you give? Figure out a price that you are willing to pay for the home if the economy was good and it was a split market, not a sellers or a buyers. Then go about 20,000 less and start there, depending on the price of the home to start with. If they are looking for at least 500,000 you could drop it by 50,000  and start there. mortgage lenders can also help you out with this so talk to them about it too.

If you can find a good deal go for it, but I would work on making improvements to the home after you move in to help increase the value of your home and the homes around you.

Good luck house hunting.

Not just in the USA

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: Real Estate, Selling a Home, buying a home

I talk about Mortgages a lot on this blog. Most people who do interior design work know a lot about them and homeowners should if they do not. When I talk about mortgages I usually am talking about the ones in the united states. Other countries have them too, like Brittan and France and so on. Right now they are actually doing well in those countries and it’s a great time to buy. Check out companies that have free financing and other great perks.

On the other hand if your in those countries and looking for a home in the US now is a great time to buy. Come help us out! Really though if you do have the money check out homes in the US or in the UK. Home buying is something you can invest in. You probably don’t want to try house flipping for the first time right now though. Since you probably won’t be able to sell a home in most places, but you can buy a home for yourself and invest in the future of your family and your retirement.

More about looking for a home

Posted By: Holly  //  Category: Real Estate, Selling a Home, buying a home

In this economy I try to keep my eye out for things that will help you the home buyer or seller. In this case I have found ePERKS.com a great resource for the home buyer or seller. Right now they are offering up to $20,000 cash back when you buy or sell a home with one of there relator’s. They have a nice search that will allow you to find a local Realtor that is right for you. Of course once you find one there do some more research to find out if there really a good match for you. Talk to your friends and family and talk to them. They may work very hard for you.

The other nice thing about this site is that the offer a few other products like auto loans and can help you find a home improvement contractor. So even if your not looking to buy or sell a home, they still can help you to make the home you do have better for you. You can get 10-15% off of a contractor through them. As I said before, once you find one do some research. I was actually surprised with the search they offered for contractors, not only can you find general home builders but you can find window installers and even a maid to clean your home. That would be a nice way to keep that fung shui working well, wouldn’t it?
